This course is a must for anyone who hasn't already gotten their boating safety certificate and I would highly recommend even for experienced boaters. As someone who has been on boats for decades but never owned a boat before, I learned so much about safe boating that I never would have gotten from an online course. Having Alan as the course instructor was a gift. His knowledge of boating as well as his own personal experiences as a boater and as a auxiliary member of the Long Island Coast Guard brought hammered home how important boat safety is than just reading it in a book or online course. The class was pretty crowded and was very diverse in age and experience with teenagers to veterans and Aan made sure that everyone in the class understood all aspects of each chapter of the class before moving on to the next chapter. His personal stories added context as well as real-life situations he had experienced, making the class much more interesting. I truly felt that the 8 hours spent in his class were as important as anything I can do to become a safe and knowledgeable boater.

This boating school was absolutely amazing! The instructors were professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire learning experience easy and enjoyable. They explained everything clearly and helped me feel confident throughout the course. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to get their boating license. An interesting course well presented.

The class was very informative and well structured to get a better understanding on the new safety rules. The instructor kept the group engaged and had excellent knowledge in boating to share. Appreciate courses like this and how you can ask information from a well experienced individual.

Great class, engaging and really helpful.

Prior to the class, I knew boats went on the water. I learned so much from the class and have a better understanding of how to operate a vessel to keep me and others safe. The instructor was super engaging and you can tell he enjoyed the subject. Highly recommended!

By all means I would give this course five stars I took it just for the certificate but I received so much more I myself at one time was a merchant Seaman I also at one time owned the 4901 by Henry R Hinckley that's a 50 ft catch rig sailing vessel. Mr Alan Altermam made everyone understand that when you are on water you are 10 times more exposed to very serious injuries and that everyone must act accordingly. This course should be taken by anyone who intends to be on the water even as a passenger because it's everyone's duty to understand what they are expected to do.

Alan did a great job with this class. Very informative and many practical take aways. I am new to boating but after this class I am excited to get on the water and feel much safer and more comfortable after taking this class. I realize there is a lot of competition for these safety classes but you won’t go wrong taking this one.

Class was excellent. Alan Alterman did a terrific job In teaching the class & had a range of students from beginner to experienced boaters . He covered all the materials In a clear matter and kept everyone’s interest throughout the day. Alan is very experienced and helpful & I believe everyone, including those that are experience, walked away learning something. Under Briana‘s law, everyone is required to take a safe boating class.It’s a worthwhile class for everyone to take including experienced, to not only brush up, but learn new material to ensure that we all stay safe out on the water.

After having taken my previous Boating Certification over 15 years ago, and having logged many hours of safe boating experience, I found this course a very helpful refresh. Alan is very knowledgeable, thorough and engaging in his presentation. Thank you for a worthwhile day of learning and new confidence on how to continue with a fun and safe boating experience.
